What the extension reads, what it sends, and when.
What it does
- Export Shopify products to CSV — every product on the store, paginated automatically (250 per page), including variants, options, SKUs, prices, compare-at prices, weights, images and tags.
- Import into LaunchMyStore — sign in inside the extension and the CSV is sent to your store’s bulk importer. Products appear in Products within a minute; images are copied to your store’s CDN in the background.
- Works on any Shopify store you can open in the browser, on a custom
domain or a
.myshopify.comaddress. Password-protected stores are not readable, because their catalogue is not public.
How to use it
1
Open the store
Visit the Shopify store in Chrome — your own, or one you are researching.
2
Click the extension icon
The popup shows the store and how many products it found.
3
Choose an output
Download CSV saves
<store>-products-<date>.csv to your Downloads
folder. Import into LaunchMyStore asks you to sign in once, then sends
the products to your store. The CSV format
The file uses the same columns as Shopify → Products → Export, so it opens in any tool that already accepts a Shopify export — LaunchMyStore, WooCommerce importers, Matrixify, Google Sheets, Excel. One deliberate improvement over Shopify’s own export: the Title is repeated on every variant row. Shopify leaves it blank after the first row, and several importers (LaunchMyStore’s included) skip title-less rows — which silently drops every variant except the first. Repeating the title keeps all variants intact and costs nothing for other tools.Limits to know about
- Stock quantities are not public. Shopify’s storefront only says whether
a variant is available, not how many are in stock. Sold-out variants are
exported with quantity
0; in-stock variants are left blank so your importer applies its own default. Adjust quantities after import, or export inventory from your Shopify admin. - Images are linked, not downloaded. The CSV points at
cdn.shopify.comURLs. LaunchMyStore copies them to its own CDN during import; if you use the CSV elsewhere, do that before closing the Shopify store. - Collections, pages, blogs, customers and orders are not exported — the extension does one thing. Use the LaunchMyStore admin importers or the Products API for the rest.
- Themes cannot be read from a storefront. Download the theme ZIP from your Shopify admin and upload it in LaunchMyStore → Themes; Liquid themes run as-is.
